Looking east from the top of the Santon, this is the ground that Bagration traversed to attack the French left. Bagration had held his position to begin with, with Leichtenstein's cavalry and Grand Duke Constantine's Imperial Guard to his south, between him and the Pratzen Heights (to the right of this picture). As the battle progressed a gap opened in the line here, isolating Bagration and ultimately allowing Lannes to secure the northern theatre and push east along the road to Olomouc.
