War of the Third Coalition : Austerlitz

This was Napoleon's view from the Zuran towards the Pratzen Heights. The persistency of the mist during my visit means the heights are barely visible, but on the morning of the battle the sun burnt off the early mist to reveal to Napoleon the sight he'd been waiting for - Allied columns vacating the high ground as they moved down to attack the villages of Telnitz and Sokolnitz in the south (to the right of the photograph).
