War of the Third Coalition : Austerlitz

The village of Telnitz marked Napoleon's extreme right and the southernmost tip of the battle. It was held by Legrand's division of Marshal Soult's IV Corps, supported by Friand at the front of Davout's arriving III Corp. The French soldiers here had a gruelling task, to hold against the main brunt of the Allied attack while Napoleon bided his time to send Soult into the Allied centre. The scene of very hard fighting, it changed hands many times during the course of the morning.
