Looking east from Telnitz, this was Legrand's view of the approaching Advance Guard of I Column under Kienmayer, moving down off the heights in the distance, and across this vast open killing ground. This movement started the battle sometime after 7.00am, followed by the descent of Langeron's II Column - to the left of this picture - which was aiming for the Goldbach stream between Telnitz and Sokolnitz.
