Looking east from the Sokolnitz pheasantry to the Pratzen Heights, crowned by the battle's largest monument, the Tumulus of Peace. Prebyshevsky's column marched across this ground towrds us, as did the French of St Hilaire's division later in the battle, after they had taken the heights and followed up in the Russian rear to the south.
