This diversionary attack against the left wing came over this ground. Looking east from Rodewitz the hill in the centre of the picture is the Strohmberg. Frederick had detached 9,000 men under General von Retzow to take that advantageous spot on the Austrian right wing, but of course the enemy was already there. As it turned out Frederick sorely missed von Retzow's men in the heat of battle.
