War of the Prussian Liberation : Lutzen

The monument to Scharnhorst in Grossgorschen. The great Prussian reformer and Chief of Staff to Blucher was mortally wounded at Lutzen. Refusing the proper time to recover, Scharnhorst rushed off to Vienna to persuade them to join the war, his wound became infected and he died, nearly two months after receiving it. He was succeeded as Chief of Staff by Gneisenau.
