Seven Years War : Rossbach

The most important feature of the Rossbach battlefield was this hill, known as the Janus Ridge. When Frederick (informed by Captain Gaudi) saw the Franco-Imperial army attempting to outflank him, he ordered first his cavalry, then his infantry around the rear of this hill, out of sight of the enemy. Here the front of the ridge is seen from the village of Lunstadt, which formed the right wing of the Prussian infantry once they had marched over it and reformed.
